Our 2023/2024 French theatre play

Chasse au trésor - an immersive event for EYFS to Year 6 pupils

Our foreign language play was performed by an English actor and a native French performer. Throughout each of our 1h performances we encouraged assembly participation and invited over a dozen volunteers to join us on stage.

Our focus was on communication. We used mime, repetition, games, singing and dancing to encourage the pupils to practise and consolidate their Modern Foreign Language, developing their listening, speaking and cognitive skills (problem-solving, critical thinking, and memory).

Scarlett arrives at the treasure hunting fair — Meet Scarlett! She is at the world renowned international Treasure Hunting fair, to get her little sister the best birthday present ever.

Scarlett wondering how to name her fruits and vegetables in French — But first she is hungry. Will you help Scarlett name her different fruits and vegetables in French?

Madame Saison invites kids to do some ribbon dancing — Brilliant, Madame Saison is happy now. She will help us in our quest. Will you join her in a little ribbon dance? A gauche, à droite, en haut, en bas et on tourne!

Scarlett and the French sailor crash — The treasure is out at sea. It's alright Mr Marin the sailor will help. Hopefully our submarine won't crash...

Scarlett finds the treasure chest — We've discovered an underwater cave. And here is the treasure we've been looking for. Hooray!!

The French sailor is collecting colourful balls — Oh no, the chest is locked! We need to collect all primary colours to unlock it. Do you know your French colours?

Scarlett and the French sailor have found the treasure — Hooray, it worked. Now I wonder what the treasure might be?
